Clubs and Organizations

Biomedical Engineering Graduate Students This is a group for biomedical engineering graduate students intended to help create a cohesive group of graduate students, voice our ideas and opinions, socialize with each other, and maintain contacts with schools and businesses.
Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) BGSA is here to foster a sense of community among the Black graduate student body by representing and acting upon its academic, cultural, intellectual, social, and political concerns and interests.
Catatonics The Catatonics are a coed graduate student a cappella group at Northwestern University. Formed in 1997, the group has found a place in the musical community in Evanston. Our roster currently includes 16 members. We perform both on and off-campus, at show halls, saloons, street corners and salons.
Chicago Cultural Club The Chicago Cultural Club seeks to build a community of graduate students at Northwestern University around cultural, scientific, and architectural experiences in Chicago.
Chicago Graduate Student Association The CGSA is a student organization that encompasses graduate students in the following programs on the Chicago Campus: the Integrated Graduate Program (IGP), Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), Northwestern University Interdepartmental Neuroscience (NUIN), Genetic Counseling, Clinical Psychology, and Physical Therapy. The CGSA exists to provide a forum to address the academic, social, and political needs of graduate students on the Chicago campus, as well to promote interactions with groups on the Evanston campus.
Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) Northwestern University Chinese Student and Scholar Association promotes cultural exchange and cultural diversity. NUCSSA hosts activity and service events every month, including two major annual events: Moon Festival and Chinese New Year Celebration.
Graduate Gaming Group The Grad Gaming Group is dedicated to creating and nurturing social interaction between graduate students across all disciplines by mutual appreciation for video games.
Graduate Student Association for Latino and Spanish Activities (G-SALSA) G-SALSA was founded with the purpose of providing an environment where students can meet and interact with other students to celebrate Hispanic and Latin American Heritage. The membership of G-SALSA is open to all graduate students at Northwestern University who are interested in the Hispanic/Latin-American culture.
Graduate Women Across Northwestern (GWAN) Graduate Women Across Northwestern (GWAN) is an interdisciplinary organization that seeks to create community building opportunities for women in the graduate and professional programs at Northwestern University.
GYA at Sheil Catholic Center The Graduate & Young Adult fellowship at Sheil is open to all graduate students and young adults, married or single, working in the community. We coordinate a variety of social events and service opportunities as well as holding a monthly dinner and discussion.
Korean Students Association (KSA) Korean Student Association (KSA) is a voluntary organization for Korean graduate students, by Korean graduate students, and of Korean graduate students. Post-docs and visiting scholars are also members of KSA. In addition, KANU is an affiliated undergraduate organization.
Northwestern Graduate Student Quilting Guild The Quilting Guild brings graduate students together across disciplines around a common interest. We hold bi-weekly quilting bees where students of all skill levels and disciplines get to know each other while quilting. The Guild also makes quilts for charity and teaches students new quilting techniques
Northwestern Swing Dance Syndicate NSDS is a group of graduate students that organize swing dances featuring live music on the Northwestern campus.
NU-Mama NU Mama is a supportive community of graduate student mothers who meet bimonthly to discuss the unique joys and challenges of raising a family while in graduate school.
Graduate and Professional Students at NU Hillel Our website provides links to the Jewish graduate and professional student organizations on both the Evanston and Chicago Campuses. It also lists resources for current and prospective graduate students.
NUpowerlifting The powerlifting club is a competitive organization for anyone in the northwestern community with an interest in powerlifting or Olympic style weightlifting. We compete in powerlifting meets in the Midwest area throughout the year. Undergraduate and graduate students of all levels of experience, genders, and weight classes are encouraged to join.
Queer Pride Graduate Student Association (QPGSA) QPGSA is committed to supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, and allied members of Northwestern University’s graduate school community. In addition to the numerous social and activist opportunities we host throughout the year, QPGSA hopes to further our academic programming this year and continue our efforts to stimulate and promote intellectual scholarship on issues that affect the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities.

Rotaract Club of Northwestern University Derived from “Rotary in Action,” the organization emphasizes a strong commitment to promoting world understanding and peace through the development of leadership. Activities include professional development, leadership development, and service project development. The club welcomes both undergraduate and graduate students.
SPG Improv Diverse group of graduate students whose mission is to build community through learning, teaching and performing improvisational theatre.
