The Graduate Leadership and Advocacy Council

The Graduate Leadership and Advocacy Council (GLAC) is the voice of graduate students in academic and administrative matters at Northwestern University and a forum for graduate student leaders. Members of the GLAC include delegates from graduate student associations recognized by The Graduate School (GSA, CGSA, BGSA, CSSA, G-SALSA, QPGSA, GWAN, and IGSSA) and the McCormick Graduate Leadership Council (MGLC). Through regular meetings and ongoing dialogue, the GLAC brings the concerns of graduate students to the attention of the deans and administrative staff of The Graduate School (TGS), as well as other stakeholders on both campuses.

GLAC also supports advocacy initiatives and represents Northwestern at the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students, all while serving as a place for student leaders to discuss best practices on exercising leadership skills and how to best represent graduate students within their individual associations.
